STROKE RECOVERY PROGRAM ASSISTANT- The local Abbotsford Stroke Recovery Program offers a community-based place for stroke recovery. They are designed to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors. CYRUS CENTRE HOUSE PARENTS- Cyrus Centre is looking for a married couple with either no children or grown children who can commit themselves to be full-time house parents. This would suit a couple where one member has outside employment or a retired couple. The Home is in Abbotsford on a bus route in a convenient location. Houseparents will provide a home environment for youth living in semi-independence, providing skills modeled in day-to-day living, skills necessary to live independently; living in community, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, recreation, problem-solving, respect of others, laundry and so on, basic day-to-day life skills. ON CALL DRIVERS– Inasmuch Community Society provides transitional housing, settlement services, customized employment counseling, and basic living support for up to six months following an asylum seeker’s arrival in BC.  Our folks often have to go to Vancouver to meet with lawyers, get their medicals or report to the CBSA. TELECOMMUNICATIONS VOLUNTEER WORK – We are a telecommunications company that does a lot of volunteer work for ministry groups. Some of the work is out-of-town, however, all your costs will be covered. Lately, we have worked at MCC-Powell River, Camp Squeah, Camp Homewood (Quadra Island) and Kawkawa Camp. The type of work varies but is mostly to do with communications. You will be able to handle tools, use computers, and climb ladders, as needed. We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, and depending on your attitude, this may turn into an actual employment opportunity.
