What I do: I am currently Pastor of Worship Ministries, overseeing the development of worship leaders and team training, leading worship at various venues. I am also seconded to Trinity Western Worship, where I teach and mentor in the Worship Arts Department, developing leaders and as an instructor of worship theology.

Spouse: Darlene – married since 1987.

Children: We have two grown children – Daniel and Jennifer who is married to Collin Prather.

Education: I hold a B.A. in Psychology (Minor in History) from SFU, a Master of Worship Studies degree from the Webber Institute, where I’m currently studying for my Doctorate degree.

How I got involved with Northview: We returned back to Canada from the UK, where we were serving the Lord in worship and youth ministry. We have been part of Northview since 2000, when I took the position of Worship Pastor.

Hope and vision for Northview: To continue to grow in Christ and worship him as a body faithfully in profession, passion, and action.

A few of my favorite things: I love running, following sports, especially the Seahawks (NFL), the Canucks (NHL), the Blue Jays (MLB), and Aston Villa FC (England). I also love exploring ethnic cuisine, and spending time with family at any juncture! And oh ya… I’m a history geek, so holidays usually include doses of exploring old stuff!

Favourite kind of music: I have a pretty eclectic taste, from Tchaikovsky to Switchfoot; or folkies like Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Bruce Cockburn, or newcomers like Jetty Rae.

Favourite author: C.S. Lewis perhaps?

I like this quote: “I know there’s a balance, I see it when I swing past” (John Mellencamp – Between A Laugh And A Tear).

Favourite scripture: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NIV
