SUMMER 2019

Thank you to all of those who studied with us this past year. All of our weekly studies are currently wrapped up until the fall but please click here: PSALMS A Summer Study to access the workbook for our summer study of selected Psalms. We encourage you to work through these Psalms at home and invite you to join us at our two summer gatherings, July 25th and August 22nd, where we will spend the evening together with teaching, worship, and prayer at 7pm @the Downes Road Campus.

Fall 2019 Inductive Bible Study Options

What is Inductive Bible study?

We believe God still speaks today and that His primary and authoritative way of doing this is through His Word; all 66 books, every original word inspired by Him! His Word is inerrant, sufficient, and understandable. We believe taking in Scripture is a necessary part of the growing Christians life. God has inspired each book to be written in a way that we can understand what is needed to live His way.

  • We desire to GROW in knowledge that results in women who look more like Jesus.
  • We desire to SUBMIT to His Word.
  • We desire to KNOW God: His character and ways.
  • We desire to KNOW Jesus: what His life, death and resurrection accomplished (the gospel!).

We strive to do this by using the Inductive Bible study method which uses the Bible as our primary source. This method utilizes 3 tools:

  • Observation (what does the Bible say?)
  • Interpretation (What does this mean?)
  • Application (What do I do?)

Through personal daily study, participation in weekly discussion groups and the teaching that follows, we strive to grasp God’s Word at a deeper and more impactful level.  We gather weekly to worship and hear stories of how God is changing women through His Word.

The Gospel of John (Northview Curriculum)

September 16-December 2, 2019

Monday Evenings 7:00-9:00pm @Downes Road Campus in Lower Court

Cost: $15

John was a disciple of Jesus Christ and recorded historical events in his gospel “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name”. Join us as we study this eyewitness account, and hear Jesus explain who he is, what he came to earth to accomplish, and how his life, death and resurrection affects our lives today.

Each weekly session includes:

LOOK: A time to observe the text and highlight the details of what is happing in the passage. Together in our table groups we review the homework and discuss what we have observed.
LEARN: A time of teaching that helps us to interpret what we have observed in the text and connect the passage we have studied to the bigger picture of God’s word.
LIVE: A time of table group discussion on how to apply this knowledge to our daily lives, followed by a time of prayer.

Hebrews (Precept Curriculum)

September 16-December 9, 2019

Monday Evenings 7:00-9:00pm @Downes Road Campus in Worship Center (and various classrooms)

Cost: $35

This fall, in our 11-week study of Hebrews chapters 1-4, you will come to know Jesus, your Merciful High Priest. You will study and learn what the book of Hebrews has to teach us about how and what God has spoken to us in His Son; what He says about Jesus, angels and our great salvation.

This will be step one of a year in the book of Hebrews, coming to know the one-ness of the Old and New Testaments as well as how Jesus is the centrepiece of it all. You will learn the difference between Old and New covenants as well as the purpose behind the sacrificial system presented in Exodus and Leviticus. This book will tie it all together and bridge the seeming gap in a way that we pray will minister to you deeply.

Commitment includes 4-5 hours of personal study/week (all instructions provided in your study workbook), weekly Monday night attendance in a discussion group, and large group teaching. All three pieces are so valuable for getting the most out of your study.
