Men’s Inductive Bible Study

Men’s Bible studies are Bible study-based community groups (CG). They are intergenerational and open to men who are single or married, Christian or seekers of God, from Northview or elsewhere.

At Northview, we believe that the words of the Bible are God’s very words and are “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness”, enabling us to be “complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16b-17). Consequently, the Bible is at the centre of our Bible study. As we sit at tables together and slowly work through a biblical book, we discover how God wants to challenge, encourage, and change us.

What is Inductive Bible study?

We believe God still speaks today and that His primary and authoritative way of doing this is through His Word; all 66 books, every original word inspired by Him! His Word is inerrant, sufficient, and understandable. We believe taking in Scripture is a necessary part of the growing Christians life. God has inspired each book to be written in a way that we can understand what is needed to live His way.

  • We desire to GROW in knowledge that results in women who look more like Jesus.
  • We desire to SUBMIT to His Word.
  • We desire to KNOW God: His character and ways.
  • We desire to KNOW Jesus: what His life, death and resurrection accomplished (the gospel!).

We strive to do this by using the Inductive Bible study method which uses the Bible as our primary source. This method utilizes 3 tools:

  • Observation (what does the Bible say?)
  • Interpretation (What does this mean?)
  • Application (What do I do?)

Through personal, daily study, and participation in weekly discussion groups and the teaching that follows, we strive to grasp God’s Word at a deeper and more impactful level.

Psalms: A Summer Study

In the fall we will be studying the book of John together, so over the summer we are taking the opportunity to take a closer look at some of the Psalms that John references in his gospel. Click on the button below to access the workbook.

The Gospel of John (Northview Curriculum)

Weekly: Wednesdays in Center Court
Fall Dates: September 18 – November 27
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Cost: $15

Register for John

John was a disciple of Jesus Christ and recorded historical events in his gospel “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name”. Join us as we study this eyewitness account, and hear Jesus explain who he is, what he came to earth to accomplish, and how his life, death and resurrection affects our lives today.

Each weekly session includes:

LOOK: A time to observe the text and highlight the details of what is happing in the passage. Together in our table groups we review the homework and discuss what we have observed.
LEARN: A time of teaching that helps us to interpret what we have observed in the text and connect the passage we have studied to the bigger picture of God’s word.
LIVE: A time of table group discussion on how to apply this knowledge to our daily lives, followed by a time of prayer.
