leaving church early.
i think this is a different age we live in, gatherings are more informal. if its any consolation i ask myself the same question when our preaching pastor comes from behind the curtain to speak and leaves as soon as he’s done, “exit stage right.”
Just listened to your Podcast the area of leaving church was interesting. we often leave after the message the reason being is that we find the music to loud but we apprecitate that it is well done and not to long. I have a decibel app. the sound is usually 100 decibel or over. I wear ear plugs take them out for the message when the message is over and they hit the drums and I have to dig for my ear plugs again it is just easier to leave. I understand the majority of people at Northview are young and like the loud fast music however sometimes it doesn’t seem like the final two songs goes along with the message just seems like another concert taking place. This is not always the case. Sometimes the reason people don’t sing is because the songs change so fast they never get familiar with them.. Don’t like to complain and I know everyone does there best but just thought I would leave my thoughts as you were discussing th subject. Lorena Crocker
I’ve recently been attending Northview with my children. I am very impressed by many things I see at this Church. Many things seem to be so well thought out, intentional & organized. To me this is a reflection of a good leadership team. The messages I have been hearing for the past few months are so relatable, encouraging & challenging. Thank you for that. Your podcast ending with the leaving the church early…
I have not left early. ( I realize your not on a witch hunt to single people out) Sometimes I do not sing along as I do not know your songs. I’m used to hymn books, I guess, where you can see the notes. I wonder if a karaoke design with a bouncing ball on the words would help me. 🙂 I do find the instruments too loud. In my opinion they drown out the congregations voices.
I like your technology pertaining to the podcasts and even Sunday school security. Thank you.
