Thanks gentlemen…..listening in on your dialogue.
After listening for a while to you guys regarding the idea of “fleeces” and trying to to determine Gods will and direction for our lives in any given particular area…..I would have to say that in the end of my personal arguments, thoughts, wranglings within my own head as i listen, of trying to determine how I felt about it and thought, I would have to say that I agree with Jeff when he said that the Word of God IS Sufficient! That IT IS Sufficient and enough for our wisdom, direction, and guidance! I do. As Jeff quoted from 2 Tim 3:16,17. of which i totally agree!
BUT, If I may continue, I think that one of our/my biggest problems in life is that we do not, have not, spent and spend sufficient time studying, meditating, and pondering Gods Word! AND, Not Only spending that time in His Word directly (not just listening to preachers/teachers), but doing it with an HONEST Heart before God! Meaning that, by what His Word says and reveals to us in that time, we DETERMINE that WE WILL DO, and behave ourselves in it’s instructions, without compromise! (Exhale) 🙂 Kinda sad, even when I think about it, but I think that that is the problem.
So, at first, in the beginning of your dialogue, I wasn’t necessarily agreeing with Jeff regarding the idea of fleeces, but when he first mentioned Gods Word being enough and complete for the believers maturity, direction, perfection from 2 Tim 3:16,17, he had my amen from there. And again, I agree with the fact that the Issue Is, christian maturity! Growing up in Christ and Gods Word. Walking in truth. Walking in the light of the scriptures, with humility, integrity, and honesty! And I think that is where so many, too many of us Christians are missing it.
Anyway, that’s my two cents worth! 🙂
Thanks gentlemen…blessings.
p.s.- I guess if I could ask any question, it would be, how could we remedy that in the body of Northview, among church people, creating a real desire for, and delight in Gods Word, the scriptures? Inspiring a real, and sustained, hunger and thirst for God and His Word? 🙂
