In response to Jeff’s comments about the distinction between old and new covenant, I want to point out that there is a definite continuity between the old covenant and the new covenant. The principle is: “I am your God and you are my people.” This thought is carried right through all of Scripture. Compare Exodus 6:7 and Revelation 21:3. So while it is true that we live under the new covenant, not the old covenant, it is also worth noting that there is an organic link and an overall continuity between them. We do not want to be those who, like Marcion, excise the Old Testament and many parts of the New Testament from our Bibles (which I know you are NOT doing). We also do not want to promote hyper dispensationalism
