Just a brief response – thank you for taking the time to provide your thoughts. Obviously, this is not the forum to address complicated issues in a way that is fair to people on different sides of complicated issues. I might recommend the book “God and the Philosophers: The Reconciliation of Faith and Reason” by Thomas V. Morris for other perspectives from individuals who have, like yourselves, openly and honestly wrestled with complex questions in this regard. Jeff, I think you will appreciate the praise many of these individuals have for Alvin Plantinga. I also don’t want to defend neuropsychology, or address whether it is a hard or soft science, or just quackery – a quick web search will illustrate the integral role it plays, for example, in dealing with brain injury in amateur and professional sports, as well as rehabilitation medicine. I would just say that the lessons we have learned regarding the relationship between brain and behavior has led to some challenges with regards to not whether humans can change, but rather how can change occur and within what parameters. Ultimately, our presuppositions guide these discussions and if they are not able to be examined, limited meaningful dialogue can occur. Allan
This whole discussion underscores that the change brought about by regeneration is miraculous; it is an act of the Holy Spirit performed miraculously in the human heart which actually changes it.
Could you discuss your point of view on end time prophesies for your 200th episode?
